Grant News:
December 8, 2011, the State of New York awarded $508,240 to construct a new transload rail yard in Auburn and 2,640' passing siding to enhance train operations.  The transload facility will provide Central New York businesses with access to rail transportation without making a large capital investment, servicing companies that do not have a rail line into their facilities but use and/or ship large quantities of material.

In June 2009, the Federal Railroad Administration awarded $349,000 for a rail relocation project in the Village of Watkins Glen. Work will begin once the contract and environmental reviews are complete.

NYS DOT has announced that it will finally let contracts out for the Fiscal Year 2007-2008 Rail Bond and Passenger / Freight Grant programs appropriated under former Governor's Pataki and Spitzer.
